The Maple Plain Snomads was established in 2011 and has since merged with the Loretto Sno Birds. We are a group of snowmobilers and families that love local riding. Members are from all over the West Metro area from Lake Minnetonka to Corcoran and Delano to Plymouth . The club consists of between 60 -70 Members. We are always looking for new members. The club maintains roughly 70 miles of trails including the Luce Line. Snomads is part of North West Trails County Association. Since its inception the Snomads have been avidly involved in building a trail shelter, accrued the Luce line and added multiple trails to Lake Minnetonka. Our mission is to work with local municipalities, law enforcement, restaurant owners, business owners and land owners to continue a sport we all love.
PLEASE DONATE TO HELP US KEEP OUR TRAILS GROOMED. We welcome donations, if you cant volunteer to keep our trails in good shape, feel free to venmo a donation to the club. We use the money for maintaining and updating the equipment, Anything Helps!
You automatically become a Northwest Trails member once you join the Snomads. Maple Plain Snomads is the local club which grooms the southern half of Northwest Trails. In addition to the Maple Plain Snomads our sister club the Hamel Snow Runners are also under the umbrella of Northwest Trails. Together we all form the County Club called Northwest Trails. The monthly meeting for the Northwest Trails Association is held the first Tuesday of every month at the Medina Entertainment center at 730 PM. All are welcome!
The Northwest Trails/Snomads Shelter is located on Luce Line One mile west of County Rd 110 and is open to the general pubic. If you stop in feel free to stoke the fire inside or outside. Its a central meeting spot for the club where we warm up, roast hotdogs and socialize. Most weekends when there is snow you will find our members there. Check our events page for the next meet up.
We Maintain the Southern half of the Northwest Trails Associations trail. It consists of over 70 miles of trails that the Snomads groom and maintain.

What do members do?
Members attend meetings and become active in one or more of the many volunteer opportunities:
* Develop new trails
* Brush, maintain and mark trails
* Plan and run fundraisers
* Volunteer at youth snowmobile safety classes
* Lead or participate in local group rides
Social activities also abound:
* Go on club snowmobile trips
* Attend meetings
* Meet new people
* Learn more about snowmobiles and snowmobiling
* Teach new snowmobilers
* Be a positive role model for young snowmobilers
We love snowmobiling, thats why we are here right? Its Simple, stay on the trail or we will loose it. Stay to the right side of the trail when approaching oncoming traffic, leave stakes and signs in tact.
